Frequently Asked Questions
Answers before you ask them.
The seven questions our clients ask most often before signing an engagement letter. Anything else, put it on the scoping call.
No. While our headquarters are in Nairobi, we execute projects across East, West, Southern, and North Africa through our regional network of local experts and partners. Each engagement is tailored to the target country or countries.
Every buyer is screened for commercial relevance, purchasing authority, financial credibility, and strategic fit. Depending on the engagement, we conduct due diligence covering company background, decision-makers, market reputation, import capability, and buying potential before arranging meetings.
No reputable consultancy can guarantee a commercial contract because the final decision depends on pricing, product competitiveness, negotiations, and both parties’ commercial terms. What we do guarantee are the agreed deliverables, such as pre-qualified buyer meetings, vetted buyer shortlists, and dedicated in-market execution, as defined in your engagement.
Success fees apply only where specified in your engagement and are triggered by agreed commercial milestones, such as a signed distribution agreement, first purchase order, or completed transaction. Everything is clearly defined in the contract before work begins.
You do. All commercial contracts are signed directly between your company and the buyer or distributor. We act as your disclosed market-entry partner and facilitator. Upon completion of the engagement, all approved contacts and relationship history remain with your business.
Buyer attendance is confirmed before every meeting. Where applicable, particularly for trade missions, we replace verified no-shows or provide the agreed contractual credit. Our team also manages rescheduling whenever commercially appropriate.
Yes. Through our Export Growth Partnership, we act as your in-market commercial representative, managing distributors, developing new opportunities, attending meetings, and supporting negotiations without the cost of establishing your own subsidiary.
Client information is treated as strictly confidential. We can operate under your NDA or provide ours before sharing technical documents, pricing, commercial information, or introducing qualified buyers. Sensitive information is shared only when necessary and with authorised parties.
We primarily support B2B manufacturers and exporters in industrial equipment, healthcare, medical devices, food processing, agriculture, packaging, chemicals, construction materials, energy, engineering, and other industrial sectors. We evaluate each project based on product competitiveness and market potential.
Most buyer search projects begin producing qualified meetings within 8–12 weeks, while first purchase orders typically follow within 4–6 months, depending on your industry, sales cycle, product readiness, and regulatory requirements. Export Growth Partnership engagements generally become fully productive by the third month.
Absolutely. Many clients begin with Buyer Search & Pre-Qualified Meetings or a Per-Buyer Trade Mission before expanding into an ongoing Export Growth Partnership as sales opportunities develop.
Yes. We assist with buyer credit verification, KYC, Letters of Credit (LC), Documentary Collections (DP/DA), escrow arrangements where appropriate, foreign exchange guidance, and post-shipment payment monitoring to help reduce commercial risk.
