A practical look at the corridors where same-day settlement is real, and where ‘instant’ still means next business day.
Marketing pages love the phrase ‘instant settlement’. Reality is more nuanced — cut-off times, central-bank windows, and correspondent hops all conspire to push a T+0 promise into T+1 or worse.
We mapped every major African corridor against real settlement times over the last 90 days. The results confirm what most treasurers suspect: three or four corridors genuinely clear same-day, most clear same-day only before local noon, and a handful still require a full business day regardless of the marketing copy.
